FLAME project at EuCNC 17

The H2020 FLAME project is presenting a poster at EuCNC describing how the project is developing a flexible interactive media service platform using novel SDN routing alongside NFV and SFC techniques deployed within real-life smart city infrastructures. The project is exploring the benefits of adaptive software defined network infrastructures combining edge and metro data-centres to provide high-speed low-latency mobile edge computing.

The poster and associated short paper describe the value network and the Experimentation-as-a-Service (EaaS) methodology employed for building urban scale media ecosystems. Open calls for new experiment partners and additional cities will be run later in the project, but the initial validating experiments already running in Bristol and Barcelona include multiple stakeholder roles (platform provider, media service provider, and consumers), each exploring acceptance and viability from different perspectives. FLAME experiments will provide the core knowledge on optimal redistribution of information and control across the stakeholders, thus inspiring how commitments and obligations can be codified in Service Level Agreements for potential future B2B and B2C relationships.
